Immigration to Canada

I live in US now and got an offer in Canada. I will go to work in Canada in a couple of months time. If I want to immigrate to Canada, which way is better (apply now in US or apply after I get into Canada)?
Thanks so much for your advice/suggestion, your help is highly appreciated.
