Once you use AP

AP, your status immidiately changes to AOS. The denial in 140 and 485 will lead immidately to the lost of your status, and you may have to leave the conuntry. So people on status other than H1/L1 must be very careful when. 1) It is very difficult, if not impossible, to get visa. 2) Even you manage get a visa, using that visa indicates an abandonment of your 485. 3) Using AP invalidate your nonimmigrant status in the US.
