485 pending for name check

My 485 was filed on Feb. 2005, now is pending for FBI name check. I hear there are many cases pending for more than 2 years just waiting for name check. It is ridiculously long time just for a name check, especially now the visa number priority date has retrogressed to year 2000. If the government does not have resources to do name check, the congress should not pass the law of name check. Or if the law is required, congress should also pass a law to assign resources for enforcing the law.

In 2003, Bush government increase many resources to INS to make INS speed processing application. And INS is supposed to process each case within six month. Now this commitment is simply not true.

People, if you have similar experience, call your congressman or senator, express your pain and opinion, and ask them to provide a solution on the ridiculous situation, which impact legal immigrants significantly.
