you can ask your bank to provide a copy of your check, on both sides. My friend has never received their receipts and I told them about this. They asked their bank to send the copy with the stamp and got the case numbers. And they were able to check their status online.

And a friendly reminder, you can always ask your bank to send the cancelled original checks back to you, and they keep the copies. I did that. In this case, you don't have to pay the fee to ask your bank for a copy of the check.
