H4 孩子申請上大學

我有一個持H4簽證的孩子將在２年後高中畢業，本人的LC申請巳遞交近十八個月，現仍無音信．請問各位,如果到孩子畢業時，我們還不能拿到Ｉ－１４０．孩子該如何申請大學？孩子學習很好（stayed on High Honor Roll for two years in one of top 100 US high schools)，如果不是身份原因，在正常情況下拿獎學金沒問題．可是現在該做些什麽準備哪．．．．．？非常感謝你能分享
