據最新消息，2006財政年度employment-based的簽證名額將由140,000 增加到248,000 (其中包括7,000個來自family-based轉來的名額，以及101,000個從FY-1999-2004年度多於的名額) 。這有可能改善現時Visa Bulletin 的情況。另外，移民局也正考慮其它改善措施，例如對附合條件的I-140申請人及其配偶發放Advance Parole及EAD等。
