Date of last arrival

I have H1 visa and visa stamp obtained from China last year. A few months ago, I went to Canada for a conference for a couple days and I came back to US with a valid I-94. However, the immigration officer did not make any notes on my I-94 – they did put something when I came here as H1 last year. For I-140 or I-485, when ask for “Date of last arrival”, what should I put then?
Any suggestions? thanks.
