I did it by myself, didn't cost me a lot, less than $3000. You can do it yourself. I just followed the instructions step by step.

But back then, it was relatively easy, no need to have the English test, many got it without an interview.

It took me less than a year to get it. But I gave it up once my U.S. GC came. But yes, sometimes, having a backup will give you a peace of mind. Worth giving it a try.
