urgentHelp need:for F1 & NIW

Hi,

I apply for NIW with my F1 (I am graduating this year). I heard someone said I can not keep our F1 or apply for OPT if my application is denied. Is this true? My boss asked the international office in our school for me, and the office said it won't affect. My LG is a Ph.D student (F1) too. Will affect him if my I-140 is denied since he applied me together.
