urgent question!

i am H1B. my hu*****and want to apply NIW and file 140/485 before 10/1.

i want to file 485 with him together. my question is if 140 or 485 was denied, does it mean I will lose my H1B status? or it will be fine, i am still H1B.

I have file LC, but it is in BEC. long time to go.

it seem that it is the general situation, if you go with your spouse to apply GC,and if it was denied, you will lose your legal status and have to go back to China.

my understanding is right?
