140 and 584 corrent filing

I plan to current filing I-140 &I-485 and have a question.

How they hnow this 485 is connected to 140? they put some connectionc after I sent the 140 & 485 TOGETHER. Or I need to wait to sent the 485 after I receive the 140 receipt.
