To my knowledge, the ASC code determines what you need to take in your biometrics, fingerprint, photo, signature, or all of them. Different code applies to different application. And even for the same type of application, different person may need different code. What I worry is that the officer may make you an appointment by assigning you a wrong code. I would prefer to make the appointment after making it clear about what is the correct code for you.
