I know a guy's mother-in-law was only allowed to enter with one-way ticket on the condition that he bought the return ticket in the airport on the spot!

Of course, there are plenty of examples that people get in with one way tickets.

So it's really up to you. You can buy open ticket for round trip for peace of mind or one-way ticket for saving a few bucks.
