H1B 7th year extension

Can i file my 7th year extension prior to 365 days but requests a later start-date after 365 days? I have filed my LC 10/25/04 and my H1B 6th year will be completed on 10/31/05, i don't want to wait too near the date to file 7th yesr extension. Is there anybody has such exprience to share? Thanks in advance!
