Some local INC can only do code1 (fingerprint only) just for background checking, and after I-485 get approved, one needs to make an appointment again to take fingerprint and picture for making a green card. some local INCs (new) can do those before ahead (for both of background checking and green card making), once I-485 get approved they will send one green card directly without any appointment. code3 is new for those years and not available everywhere yet.
