Advice needed

I filed my I140, my I485 and my wife's I485 concurrently on August 31, 2004 (RD).

My I140 was approved on July 18, 2005. Someone told me if my I140 has been approved, and if I want to change my employer, I only need to wait for 180 days AFTER the I140 approval date. But another one told me the 180 days counted from the day I485 was filed, if the I140 has been approved. May I know which one is correct? If my wife wants to change her employer, when can she do it?
