help on parents' visa

My parents were denied visa in Shanghai last month. Icalled the visa serive and they told me my parents were denied because they stayed in US more than in China. Iwrote a letter to the consulate explaining that the reason in wrong . Now they sent me an email saying they were denied because Ihave a green card.

Does it mean my parents will never get visa again? Any advice?
