140 peition - resumes

How long should the resume of a referee be? Should it be relatively long or short? One of my referees sent me a copy of his long resume with 23 pages. Is it ok to use that or should I recomplie it and make it short? Should one include their publications, generally?

Your suggestions are highly appreciated.
