Urgent: H1B app question

I am currently working in a University on an H1B. I just found a new position in a private company. They will file my H1B application to INS around next Wednesday. They want me to start working on the Monday after next (a few days after the filing).

My question is can I start working so early? Should I wait until getting the application receipt from INS? Or shall I at lease wait one week after filing and then start working?

I greatly appreciate your advice.
