If your paper is accepted, it usually takes one moth or so to get published. It will take you more than couple of months to prepare all materials. It will be good timing to start prepare documents when your paper is accepted. Anyway, getting good references is also very important. The bigger guy you get, the better off you are! Getting references may take moths. So you may prepare refs now.
