It might have negative impact. I485 checks if you are a burden to public interests. Low income housing can have many forms. The funding for the low income housing could come from private donation, state or federal funding, or a combination of all. Depending on how the low income housing is managed and there it gets its funding, Immigration may or may not find out about your history.

The advice is to stay away from all government subsidies if you don't have to use it: you may save a few bucks in the short run, but you might get into a lot of trouble later when you apply for green card. Not worth it.
