Salary adjustment for financial positions from NYC to HK

I work in the financial industry with a mid level position.  I am moving from NYC to HK for similar responsibilities.  What is the typical base salary adjustment?  Is it 20% or 40% higher to adjust for cost of living and hardship?  I do have to pay the US taxes.
