There is tennure in Hong Kong called substantiate.

The tennure is depending on your RGC grant and publication record. It is the same as most US univeristies if you are mainly working on the research not teaching.

If you don't get at least one RO1 in US or RGC in Hong Kong. you will be kicked out after 5 years in US and 6 years in Hong Kong.
