A US person married to a French person in US, and later they divorced in France when they lived there.  

They can come back to US for property division suit, and they don't need to go through divorce again.

For example, in CA there is six month wait period for divorce proceeding, this couple would abosolutely not need to wait.

They can just skip to property division.
