CBS executives praised Jiang and her colleagues' quick response in a staff memo shared online.

"We are so proud of our Weijia Jiang, who has dedicated so much care over the past few months to what should have been a beautiful evening. She handled the entire situation with grace and calm — and went directly from the dais to the White House lawn, where she is currently reporting," CBS's Bari Weiss and Tom Cibrowski wrote on Saturday night.
