from chinese news? in the us, emeritus just means "former"

no aurora on it.  it's not a honor or title.

for example, one used to be a moderator on a website, from the day he/she resigned, his/her id would have a line "moderator emeritus".

another example, alan dershowitz, a former professor in harvard.  now he appears on tv shows with a note "professor emeritus".
