Ukraine ready to give up land to Russia if Vladimir Putin agrees to one key conditio
It has emerged tonight that Ukraine might consider ceasing hostilities and relinquishing territory currently under Russian control as part of a peace proposal backed by Europe.
European leaders have been briefed by Volodymyr Zelensky to resist any deal proposed by Donald Trump that would force Ukraine to give up more land, although the Kremlin could be allowed to retain some of the areas it has captured.
Such an agreement would mean solidifying the current front line and effectively giving Putin control over the regions the Russian military has occupied in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Crimea. After a hectic weekend of diplomatic exchanges between Kyiv and its allies, a Western official noted: "The plan can only be related to the current positions held by the militaries."
