It cannot be incidental that Alaska is the only US state which has been belonged to both America and Russia. The setting is a reminder of times when a good relationship was the norm rather than the exception.
Given the routine “diplomatic” choices of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, or Switzerland and Brussels, or even Camp David within the D.C. beltway, the choice of Alaska is a sheer masterstroke. Putin will honestly feel more comfortable there, just off the coast of Russia, than any of the other venues. Trump will certainly be loving it. The D.C. and international media? Lol, it’ll be like Trump said “we’re meeting on the planet of Mars – you guys feel free to keep up”. And Zelenskyy? Who the hell cares if the gay midget shows up or not.
