Despite the program’s progress, some officials within the administration are considering reducing or canceling the E-7 acquisition, arguing that space-based assets could fulfill similar roles. However, Air Force leadership maintains that the E-7 provides critical capabilities that cannot be entirely replaced by space-based systems.
