南加州的聖塔安娜風（Santa Ana Wind) 季節是火災風險高的季節，這個季節通常是9月到來年3月，其中 10月到一月 （冬季）風險最高。 （The Santa Ana wind season in California typically occurs in the fall and early winter, starting in September or October and lasting through March, with the strongest and most frequent winds often happening between October and January.）
這個季節基本上南加州每年都有大火 （下麵列的都是燒了幾千到上萬英畝的大火）：
2020年： Bobcat Fire， El Dorado Fire， Valley Fire （還有2場大火是7， 8月的，不算在聖塔安娜風季節內）
2021年： Alisal Fire， Windy Fire （Caldor Fire 是8月開始的，不算在聖塔安娜風季節內）
2022年：Fairview Fire:， Radford Fire （5月還有一場大火，但是不在聖塔安娜風季節範圍內）；
2023年 11月 - 2024年4月， 超乎尋常的雨多，所以這個風季沒有大火。正是因為那時候下這麽多雨，造成山上植物瘋長，為現在的大火創造了條件 。
