-Originally intended to wait and see the results from domestic & international researchers, but due to controversies over the authenticity of the results and confusing claims over the past few days, they decided to organize a Verification Committee for the Room Temperature Superconductor.
-Kim Chang-young, a professor at Seoul National University and vice-director of the Center for Correlated Electron Systems (?????????) at the Institute for Basic Science (IBS)- will head the verification committee.
-They will conduct measurements to verify the room-temperature superconductor if/when it is provided the specimens by Q-Center (?? ??????/ the research center where the two founders of LK-99 are affiliated to).
t/n: unsure whether it's an if or when situation. They're either publicly requesting a specimen, or the transfer has already been agreed upon and they'll receive it soon.
-Researchers from Seoul National University, Sungkyunkwan University, and Pohang University of Science and Technology will participate in this verification.
-They've also announced that replication attempts are ongoing at Sungkyunkwan University (Center for Superconductivity of Quantum Materials), Korea University (The Superconducting Materials and Applications Laboratory), and at Seoul National University (the Center for Novel States of Complex Materials Research).
