Primary elections have low participation rates, and the results are mostly decided by the more devoted/radical fraction of the party in each state. The general election follows a different formula. In a tight race like today's, if a candidate loses a few percent marginal votes (swing votes), it's enough to turn the election results. Wyomine is not representative of the United States. In a general election, Liz Cheney is expected to draw enough moderate Republican votes in most states to turn the election to Democrates.
