尼爾·伍德是中國人民的女婿。中國人民很愛護尼爾·伍德，這點，尼爾·伍德的母親及其他家人都是信得過的。
尼爾·伍德的中國妻子已經給他生了二個孩子，為什麽還沒有成為英國公民，這點我感覺有點奇怪，不過是人家的家事，咱不便過於關心。
尼爾·伍德的死亡事件，就不簡單是家事了。尼爾·伍德死亡後，他的家屬和他的國家政府都沒有疑義，都接受是死於酒精引發的心髒病。
這事好象已經過去了。
也就是說，沒有國際壓力，同時也沒有上訪者呼天天不應，呼地地不靈。
在這種情況下，中國公安部門是否有必要還繼續調查呢？我是說，王立軍在他還是重慶市公安局長的時候，他還有必要調查嗎？
據我所知，在中國，是上訪的案子都調查不過來的，怎麽會有警力精力財力物力去調查一個沒有上訪的案件呢？
王立軍還是公安局長的時候，堅持要調查尼爾·伍德的死亡事件，就是沒有一點道理的。還有更多更緊迫的事情，需要警察。
薄熙來停止他的公安局長職務，我認為是合情合理的。如果是我，也會這樣做。難道溫家寶同誌遇到同樣的情況，不這樣嗎？
也就是說，放著不斷上訪的案件不處理，而是花費有限的警力精力財力物力去調查一個沒有上訪的案件，合適嗎？
當然，如果中國沒有上訪的案件，老百姓不是感覺呼天天不應，呼地地不靈了，這樣的 COLD CASE 是有必要查的。

中國公民上訪的案件都處理好了嗎？這麽大張旗鼓處理一個沒有上訪的案件，究竟是為了什麽？
調查清楚了有怎麽樣呢？我們中國，正義，公平，人權，就處於世界領先地位了？就算是將了英國政府一軍麽？
我擔心，中國政府的所作所為，會因為東西方文化的差異，而不為英國政府，還有尼爾·伍德的家人，還有關心這件事的西方人所理解。

2011年11月16日，英國駐重慶總領事館收到重慶市公安局有關海伍德先生死亡的傳真。中方官員告知我們的職員，他的死亡原因是過度飲酒。
依照英國外交部的領事程序，領事官員為海伍德先生在中國與英國的家人提供了及時而充分的領事服務。11月18日，[海伍德的]家人通知領事官員，他們決定火化海伍德的遺體。他們分別在中國和英國兩地向我們確認了這一決定。一位[英國]外交部官員按時參加了火化儀式。我們繼續為海伍德先生在中國和英國的家人提供全麵的領事服務，包括海伍德夫人——她是中國國民，擁有有效的英國簽證。
