You might be right...because...

one of the function of landlord in share accomadation: is to look after the place for all lives in not for a particular single person. so if a single started to play around, ie: waste, abuse... it will affect other people under the same roof... if some one who use unapproved electrical device and caused fire, it will also destroy other people's belongins.... so in that case, landlord got to check the usage of electrical appliance to protect all under same roof...
