You should read Maxima07's link. I used to live in AU for 11 years and still have a strong tie with it although I have been in Canada for 8 yrs. I can tell you that I love everything in downunder, but their racial atittude, I think, is die hard. I had no problem to get along with Aussie co-workers, they treated me well after a quite long period of time with them. However, for ethonic children, there is alway that kind of allert to racialism or attitude in mind, I mean almost of Aussies, from children to adults, feel they are superior than Asians. I have been through Pauling Hunson's raise in 1996, which caused a widely hatriate towards to Asians, and the worst was media. Later on, media found Hunson did more damage than good to AU, then started to kick her. She is distiguished now, I think. I left AU during Sydney Game in 2000. I alway tell my friends, racial attitude could change, but Canada's climate couldn't. Then Coronulla beach riots in 2005, later spread over east and north suburb, which major targettiing people from Mid-east. Who knows racial riot happened again just 2 days ago at Manly beach, where always has many tourists.

"Aussie pride, Aussie pride, We are the best country in the world", you can hear those words many times a week from all kinds of media. That is the root of problem in downunder. I remmeber, Senator William Luo, third geration of chines in AU, he said his office often received phone calls and told him that you are chinese and go back to China in 90s.

I always say Australia is the best country in the world indeed, but just for white. Hopefully, one day Aussies attitude changed, that would be the best country for all. By the way, many friends of mine in AU have been slow about that kind of racial attitude. Some are denying this kind of problem or said it is no better in US either. However, Comparison gives me a best picture
