Durex is widely know name for condom in English world except Australian regard it as scotch tape. Another one is tea for super. Teens think Aussie English is sexy because of Aussie's accent. Same thing, British accent is popular too here in CA $ US. Just like Chinese teens loved to manipulate other people's accent, For instance, a Beijing boy may think a Shanghai girl's Mandarin accent is sexy.

Aussie oral English is horriable and very hard to learn for adult immigrants.

A few data quoted here I think is not correct.

1 Population, Sydney: 3.5M; Vancouver: 550K. 550K is only counted core city, Great Vancouver area is 2M. Sydney's population was counted GSA because it counts from north shore to Liverpool, which is 40 KM south of Sydney.

2 Pension entitlement in Downunder, I think it should be continues living in AU for past 10 years when you are 65. Canada's pension is very complex, 40 yrs after 18 yrs old, or yrs/40 percentage is general correct, but that is just OAS, many immigrated Chinese seniors have two: OAS and GIS, total no less than Aussie pensions.

3 For the price, Aussie has more expensive labour cost, prices are general much higher, but in Canada, Banana should be $0.59 LB, Salmon should be around $4 LB, not KG.
