Nude Nite 2011 was inTampa this weekend. Kelly Stevens, founder and organizer, brought herfun and energetic exhibition to The Trolley Barn in Tampa Heights forthe third year in a row.

When I told un-initiated people that I was going to Nude Nite, itconjured up salacious thoughts of some kind of party at a nudistresort. I suppose I understand their assumptions, but until you goto and see for yourself you just won’t understand. The idea isn’t tobe naked. The idea is to enjoy the artistic expression of the humanform. This year’s event did just that! More photos after the break.

Stevens explained that pole dancing isn’t just for strip clubs. Itis expressive dance as well as exotic fitness. This year’s exhibition,put on by Impulse Studio, was a crowd favorite.

Flexibility is key in pole dancing.

In keeping with this year’s theme, “Victorian Steam Punk,” modelswere costumed in hoop skirts, wigs and umbrellas conjuring up images ofthe past.

Miss Kaze' (pronounced kahzay) in the birdcage was a colorful and dynamic display.

Ray Richardson’s exhibitallowed NN attendees to have their portraits done on site. By placing apiece of transparent media between himself and his model, heartistically sketched their outline.

This was not your grandmother’s Scrabble Board…well, she didn’t usemany of these words anyway. Kind of gives “Triple Letter Score” a wholenew meaning.

There were works by over 150 artists. People critiqued…

And stared…

And even took photos of it.

Speaking of photos, the event attracted a LOT of guys with cameras.It’s one of the unique things about this exhibit. Pictures of (almost)everything are allowed.
