I have been visted CMU. Computer science was said to be the top, but for art and design is hard to say.  To parents, kids go to that famous UV. will feel good (for learning art) your self. I believe if your kid clearly know what she want to do, that is the best. Learning art is very competating too. Understand your hesitating.
