Do you want collectable items or just purchase for home decorationg purposes. For contemperory work,  try SF, there are a lot of art galleries around sutter street.  For Chinese art, you can try China town in SF, or try to find information about local art galleries, there are a lot of Chinese traditional painters living in SF.
