1. How do you know if a calligraphy is good or bad?
A: It needs some training to tell if a piece of work is really bad or not. It is not that bad, it is hard to tell how good it is. I tend not to say one is better than antoher, instead, I tend to say "I like xxx better"--- just because of my taste, nothing more, nothing less.
2. Who determines the standard?
A: Like or not -- That's the only standard.
3. Why are there only a few limited basic styles?
A: There are many... it is just that people's judhement converged to a few.
4. Whose calligraphy is used to create computer fondsMany
A: I know a few, e.g. 啟功,舒同, 魏碑,etc.
5. Are computer fonds used as a standard to judge someone's calligraphy?
A: To some extend, it CAN! Of course, computer is never as lively and as mody as a humanbeing.
