李詠和哈文夫婦，一個是當紅主持，一個是著名製片。兩個人當年還曾為是否生一個孩子而產生過重大分歧。當年的李詠是鐵了心不想要孩子，因為他覺得兩個人都處於繁忙的工作中，根本沒有時間來照顧教育孩子。而妻子哈文卻十分喜歡小孩堅決要生一個孩子。
李詠最終還是沒有說服老婆，於是在2002年5月20日女兒豆豆像一個小天使一樣降臨到了這個家庭。可令人沒有想到的是，當初一直堅稱不喜歡孩子的李詠自女兒降生，態度馬上180度大轉變，有時間便與孩子一起玩耍嘻鬧，帶女兒外出遊玩，變身成了模範老爸。
從女兒出生第一天便李詠開始堅持寫起女兒成長日記，記錄女兒的成長曆程，七年間從未間斷過。為了給孩子找個伴兒，與孩子一起成長。在豆豆五個月大時經過與北京動物園接洽聯絡，李詠又親自選中了一匹年與女兒出生僅相關兩天的小斑馬，以女兒的名義認養，並將此做為送給女兒的第一件禮物。
此後，李詠和女兒不定期地多次到北京動物園看望這匹取名為“豆豆”的小斑馬。如今，小豆豆已經七周歲了，李詠常說：“在家裏，老婆是自己的理財師，而把女兒當作了小情人”！
