柳下築亭軒，抬頭峭壁懸。坐懷心不亂，攬勝氣悠然。
嶺遠煙雲淡，欄新草木鮮。憂憂唯一事，隻恐墜岩天。
Under a willow tree a pavilion does stand
A menacing cliff high in sky does suspend
The hermit inside is flesh and lust free
Enjoying the scene casually and leisurely
Vague are the distant peaks mist and fog vail
Fresh are the grassy bushes by the new rail
Troubling his peaceful mind is only one thing
That sometime cliff rocks may start falling
2/3 憶秦娥·春節聚會唱戲有感
西風烈，飄搖風雨新春節。新春節，方壺聲碎，喇叭聲咽。
梨園功力難超越，雄關道道真如鐵。真如鐵，自娛自樂，遣年消月。
With brisk west wind down the way
Came rain on this Pig Year party day
Pig Year party day
Lao Fang’s voice was broken
Sound of loudspeakers did fray
Learning Peking Opera isn’t play
Huge hurdles encounter you may

高穹雲立雨潸潸，不見新春喜慶顏。宇似漏勺時灑淚，天如無賴總變顏。
隔洋彼岸多歡樂，跨地這邊少空閑。待到休身清靜日，將無氣力上煤山。
High clouds in the sky shed rain profusely
The happy face of Lunar New Year's nowhere to see
Like a colander the sky drips tears frequently
It always changes its face like a naughty boy
Much fun is going on across from the Pacific
Here we have busy days horrific
When finally I retire to some leisure days
I won't be strong enough to climb Jingshan's stairways
2/14 七律• 情人節
煙雨朦朧情侶天，蒼空淚灑我心鞭。非因孤寡歡娛少，乃為無端爛事煎。
年老何求垂暮戀，知窮但願倦心眠。纖雲冷看隨風變，不信聰明入九旋。
On this Misty rainy Valentines Day
Tears of the sky my heart whips away
Not that I have little fun being single
But that my time many things strangle
Old, how dare I even think of twilight rose
An exhausted mind I only desires a good repose
My cold eyes capture the wind driven clouds
Whose cleverness Is never beyond any doubts

一輪明月照窗下，老方心裏亂如麻。布衾多年冷似鐵，案頭難綻解語花。
幾架藏書今皆廢，滿腹詩文氣不華。時時長吟梨園曲，嘔啞嘲哳但自誇。
2/23 少年遊·夜闌見月於窗自嘲
一輪明月照窗前，心事亂如煎。空堂冷榻，花殘草亂，孤院夜風寒。
四壁藏書今皆廢，金玉竟無緣。徒有詩文，把年徒耗，人卻少情歡。
2/24 題白鹿寺（十四行雙語詩）

千年古寺伴資江，紅牆黃瓦富麗皇。依山而建四進殿，廊亭樓閣畫雕梁。
佛教故事栩如生，修行之路拾階上。一路艱難上峰頂，清風徐來豁開朗。
裴休夜讀引白鹿，寺院從此盛名揚。千斤銅鍾定時響，聲徹古城音悠揚。
清颯邈然如紗舞，禪意幽幽至庭湘。
注：1. 白鹿寺，在湖南益陽。 2. 裴休，官至宰相。據傳曾夜讀白鹿寺，引來白鹿，寺故得名。3. 庭湘， 指洞庭湖一帶。
The White Deer Temple

By the Zi River stands a temple thousands of years old,
Its red walls and yellow tiles a show of magnificence.
Four quadrangles and halls this hilly temple does hold,
Its pavilions, towers, and corridors a colorful presence.
Buddhist legends come to life in many a painting,
The stairs uphill lead to the cultivation of the mind.
Despite hardships of climbing pilgrims come ascending
To the hilltop to enjoy a view of the breezy kind.
Once when Pei Xiu burned the midnight oil in his study,
A white deer came to listen; thus the temple got its name.
The heavy bronze bell announces the hours regularly,
Everywhere in the old town lingers the sound of fame.
Like graceful gauze the melodious sound flies high
Spreading the spirit of Zen to Dongting nearby.
2/24 The Apple of My Eye, A Sonnet (Original English)
The apple of my eye, shall I court her?
She is well beyond my one-sided love
She’s entitled to a better suitor
Not an old guy of retiring stuff
Her beauty rivals any of her peers
My poor drawing does not do her justice
Her rare appearance brings joyful cheers
Yet her iciness shuns my hinting practice
But I won’t let the fire of my heart die
Though I decide to hide it in my stove
The life wont’ see a knot with her I tie
To my grave goes the unrequited love
I’ve fixed my impression of her with verse
It lives as long as the universe

是否向她獻殷勤？ 鞭長莫及徒勞神。彼當更好追求者，絕非老朽淘汰身。
美貌超群禽中鶴，丹青難寫靈秀人。偶見總令心歡喜，耐何冰顏不容臨。
但我不息心中焰，雖然爐裏永囚禁。此生不能結連理，此情落寞入青墳。
已將柔腸入詩行，天地不老必長存。

雪霽群山多寂寞，荒原一片虛空。浮雲不見晚來風，釅愁鋪浩宇，鬱鬱此心同。
三兩茅屋無客宿，誰來邀我禪功？枯鬆葉盡待歸鴻。俗心覺醒日，處處響吟蛩
Post-snow hills are lonely
The wildness is empty
Clouds hanging unaffected by dusk wind
Dense sorrows the vast sky paint
The same with my depressed mind
Two or three houses vacant
Anyone calls me for a Zen chant?
Leaf-less pines wait for returning geese
The day my worldly heart wakes
Many a cricket music makes
題鴉巢照
抬頭赫然見鴉巢，塊肉餘生命飄搖。重女輕男阿婆棄，隨母改嫁遇人妖。
幸有好友來扶助，社會地位雖不高。誤引渣男識貧女，義助老友戰頑刁。
欲知後事待如何，老夫也已全忘掉。
臨江仙•學唱文姬歸漢
老來迷戀梨園曲，男翁竟愛青衣。眾芳尤醉蔡文姬。哭墳情摯摯，寒日歎歸期。
休說弘揚中華美，多因能會心機。飄零同是背鄉離。非難回故土，故土不餘知。

2/26 春光好—- 望雁
南行雁，列長空。逝匆匆。 萬裏旅程誰伴， 是秋風。
倦旅異鄉漂泊，青絲盡染霜容。留去難為因故土，慕飛鴻。
Southbound geese, a line in the sky, quickly fly by
The journey is long. Who goes along? The autumn wind.
I'm tired of wandering in an alien land
My black hair has turned into white sand
It's hard to decide where to go
I envy the flying geese, and miss my home.
3/3 賀新郎•加州之春
多變風雲季。是加州、早春二月，朗陰天氣。行過烏雲風蕭瑟，大雨嘩然滿地。
未打傘、輒乎又已。園裏草肥爭比壯，剔除難、索性由生死。待夏日，自然止。
人生如此方生媚。有陰晴、欲愁還樂，乃滄桑理。無道崎嶇行程苦，無限風光可睇。
轉首看、風消雨棄。雲白天藍堆高堡， 似能攀、神秘千般地。誰與我、展飛翅。

綠染柳山成一體，閑篙棚艇入春溪。空靈是此清幽界，世外汙濁俱蕩滌。

魁塔雄姿立益陽，囚龍撫水保湘鄉。三台攜手家安佑，七鬥得稱名盛揚。
書院恢弘儒子運，資江秀麗百花香。長存熠熠文星照。送目登臨看棟梁。
Magnificently the tower stands in Yiyang
Protecting the place by suppressing the flood dragon
With Santai Tower it defends the peace of families
The first star of the Big Dipper provides the designation
Grand is the scholar producing academy
Fragrant are the flowers by the Zijiang River
Forever the star of literature shines brightly
The pillars of society are visible from the tower
3/7 采蓮令•想平生
想平生，諸事無人勸。敲鍾叟、鮮能深算。任由逝水落花浮，斷事心思懶。終身計，西風賦予 ，飄飄所似 ，葉飛庭院淩亂。
白發蒼蒼，再看以往空嗟歎。無邊海，轉頭時晚。便千般悔，自己事，莫向他人怨。向明月、吟歌弄板，諸煩皆忘，唱到曲終人散。
3/7 采蓮令•暮雨
晚雲濃，微雨飛愁緒。誰知我，此心何苦。客居異土影孤單，廿載空虛度。平生事，林林總總，無從吐訴，隻交平仄詩語。
寫罷何人，可與老朽寒齋聚，方壺裏，品茶烹露？縱然須白，亦妄想，窈窕紅裙侶。奈何是，西施固好，煙波湖上，範蠡隻徒傾慕。

九轉牽牛架上花。東窗遮紙牖， 日西斜。閑來鄰裏悶壺茶。三兩坐，閑話看憨娃。
歲月似流沙。而今人已散，隔天涯。高樓起處覆兒家。俗世亂，蓮座慕袈裟。
Twisting vines of petunia bloom on the rack
The paper windows on the east side are shaded against the setting sun
Leisurely neighbors make a pot of tea
Sitting in twos and threes, they chat and watch cute kids for fun
Time passed like sand of the hourglass
Now neighbors are scattered over the country and beyond
Where skyscrapers stand, childhood homes were destroyed

蟋蟀幽鳴秋草中。梧桐聽細雨，夜朦朧。濃嵐遮樹影重重。
殘葉落，斜徑覆紅楓。
清早日升東。溫衾人去也，榻虛空。昨宵枕上夢歸鴻。青雲裏，浩浩過長風。
In autumn grass crickets sing a subdued refrain
Misty is the night when trees listens to the rain
In thick fog they assume spectral appearance
Fallen red maple leaves cover the small path
The sun rises in the east in early morn
The warm quilt deserted, the bed is forlorn
A dream of migrating geese came at night
Through clouds travelled a wind of strong might

海灣波寂，看蒼穹暮色，天青雲紫。
無力微風飄細雨，正是早春天氣。
體爽神舒，枯冬青轉，四下風光旖。
金州山綠，旱情應已略止。
常想西嶺風光，香山紅葉，石刻多年事。
欲覽燕山今不易，倥傯各擔身累。
海外飄零，鮮還中土，辜負山河媚。

家中做好飯三餐，在外出門不早還。自備食缽隨我願，何須街巷化他緣。
陽春三月無常雨，子夜零時不動酣。小鎮主街全跑斷，閑思周末上西單。
水調歌頭-武漢隨感 3/10
輪渡水南岸，足踏鶴山巔。白雲仙載飛處，金碧立雲端。對望龜山林鬱，遠眺鸚洲芳碧， 車嘯鐵橋間。浩然大江去，向海不回還。
少年時，常來此，望流川。蘆花叢裏，多少人世冷寒觀。甲子如梭而過，黑發無由變白，邁步近蹣跚。常問灘頭草，何處置鬆棺。
The ferry boat goes to the south bank
My feet on the top of Crane Hill stand
Where yellow crane flew with an immortal
A golden tower stands in clouds. The Turtle
Hill across from the river is luxuriant
Further away, the Parrot Islet is lushly green
Through the steel bridge rumbles the train
The voluminous river flows to the sea and never returns
This place I frequented when I was young
To watch the great Yangtze River flowed along
Among the reef I saw the vicissitudes of life
Now 60 years later, my hair has turned white and I walk unsteadily
I often ask the grass on the bank where my coffin will be

覓跡風流，沈園秋日臨殘寓。草侵石路，池畔凋零樹。
欲問浮萍，題壁今何處。萍不語。天光垂暮，牆外炊煙縷。
3/14點絳唇•軍營望海有感
寂寞行營，登高東望煙波淼。倚欄遠眺，碧海行飛鳥。
荏苒光陰，彈指身心老。無所靠，此心煩躁，烏鵲偏偏鬧。

古寺鍾聲，月明星淡良宵半。去家鄉遠，挽棹冬江岸。
城裏人家，鴛枕熏爐暖。情繾綣。迢迢星漢，孤旅誰人怨。

夢斷大觀園，看盡風流秀。世間美色多，豈曉誰薄厚。
有盡是長棚，徒問身前後。攜爾渡迷津，天機不可漏。
3/16 蝶戀花•老叟頌春
春至花開枝上俏。堇紫銀，相伴桃紅鬧。原野平川生百草，五顏六色迎春曉。
老叟迷花憐嫩草。卻告心頭， 莫把花枝抱。若抱花枝人必笑，無端自己尋煩惱。
3/17漁家傲•尋蹤
假日緣灣尋舊跡，浮光瀲灩長空碧。連日積雲皆散失。人徑寂，悠閑雙雁棲岩壁。
鐵打景觀流水席，山河不變人蹤易。空望芳菲徒啜泣。無所覓，斜陽暉裏煙波赤。
3/18 漁家傲•夢醒
又是窗邊圓夜月，淩晨夢醒情淒切。寐裏乾坤他世物，空跨越，陰陽有否無從說。
人生小半如寂滅，酣眠臥榻熊冬穴。舉筆書來回首閱。一頁頁，悠悠往事皆神攝。

夢醒淩晨處，寒窗披月光。空空寢室一幅牆，幾架書籍具是叟精藏。
總是收無盡，而今塞棟梁。老來無力閱文章。何苦千辛萬苦築書廊？

識汝三年有，聊天一點無。徒逢廊榭與頹廬。四顧無言似懼鼠狸狐。
倩影飄長發，桃眸笑黛珠。履行飄逸水中魚。夢裏偏偏難見翠羅裾。
Three years ago I met you
Have we had a conversation? No.
In vain we oft meet on veranda of buildings old
You would look around fearing me as an animal
Your pretty figure carries wavy long hair
Your peach shaped eyes have smiling pupils
You walk gracefully like fish swimming in water
But in my dream your greenish dress doesn’t show。
3/19 滿江紅•打乒乓球
小小桌球，有幾個老師比賽。砰砰響，幾聲尖叫，幾聲精彩。老將憑經誇自信，新兵取冠何足怪。看乒壇後進裹前賢，新生代。
班下後，跑得快，球館見，球拍帶。兩小時太久，一時能耐。覆滅全軍何必怒，贏得一場足堪快。要學習一切好球風，人人愛。
3/20玉漏遲•洛陽龍門
巍峨伊水岸，高岩壁立，皇都門守。斧刻石雕，十萬佛尊摳鏤。必是誠心堅定，四百年，方能成就。千載後，風霜雨雪，伴河邊柳。
一橋飛架清波，看題字流金，笑迎遊友。南岸香山，居易琵琶碑厚。猶記方來河洛，戎裝裹，龍門初叩。誠揖首，詩魂暗求神授

Stand like walls lofty rocky cliffs
Like warriors they guard the gate of
The nine dynasty capital
On their face axes and chisels
Carved ten thousand Buddhist statues
The work lasted four hundred years
Accomplishment of solid faith
Thousands of years later they keep
Company of river willows
Through years of winds, frosts rains and snows
Over the river flies a bridge
The gilded name welcomes tourists
On the southern bank the grave stone
Of poet Bai Juyi stands solidly thick
The memory of my first visit
In army uniform is till fresh
A sincere pray was made to him

去北加州，聖荷之塞，年度之遊。總是新春，風清雨細，綠染金州。
迦藍大士簽籌，誰能解，多時宿愁。依舊禪台，空空如也，不見鳴鳩。

We make our annual trip
Always in early spring
When wind is breezy
With drizzling rain
The golden state
Is turning green
Can the fortune telling lot
At the Buddhist temple
Remove my accumulated sorrow?
No loving bird is heard

3/22柳梢青•滿月
雲淡星稀，中天初月，玉映瑤池。滿滿嬋娟，觀音妙相，遍灑慈悲。
長空如水清漪，恨無翅，騰身宇飛。悵望青冥，嫦娥心妒，香桂攀枝。
3/23杏花天•惱花
春風嫋嫋花枝俏，暗幽香， 眼波含笑。憐花佯作誰知曉，花賞人心更惱。
昨宵夢，花神來到。笑餘癡，虛無縹緲。鏡花水月何時了，且取菱花自照。
In the soft wind of spring pretty are the flowers
With smiling eyes and indiscernible fragrance
They pretend not to see my love for them however
Bringing to my heart so much annoyance
The Goddess of flower came into my dream last night
And laughed at my fancifully unrealistic ignorance:
Stop your infatuation with reflected moon and flowers
And take a flowery mirror to look at your appearance!
3/23相見歡•又見滿月
高天又見星稀，月園時，滿滿觀音妙相映瑤池。
恨無翅，騰雲起，向慈悲，悵望嫦娥心妒桂香枝。
3/24 仄律一首用劉亞木韻 中華通韻
人生成敗確難詁，怨憤何須隨意吐。機會流失不必惜，頭顱尚在猶能補。
青梅既是尚沒熟，濁酒自然無可煮。再問啥為身後名，塵歸塵去土還土。
Life's achievement is hard to estimate
Why vent your complains inconsiderate
No need to lament the chance that is lost
Your head is still there to make up the cost
If plum fruits are not ripen on the tree
We can’t boil wine and who’s the hero see
Besides, why bother your posthumous name
Dust goes to dust and earth’ll do the same
3/24何滿子•月夜乞巧 （中華通韻）
朗月平湖高照，漣漪千點麟耀。此宵誰對枕邊鏡，將月比來孰好。亭台影搖波散，雲鬢絲鬆簪繞。
假作七夕問巧，舉線穿針刺挑。邀得月色繡蟾桂，玉兔樹邊玩鬧。殘夜人乏眼困，夢裏嫦娥窈窕。
3/25 洞仙歌•少年隨意
少年隨意，老來無情侶。異土他鄉隻孤處。更難逢，能共悲喜之人，窗燭剪，閑話春風秋雨。
偏時時遇見，窈窕紅顏，倜儻風流宴前舞。若問美如何，浣女貂蟬，屈指數，難能冠取。縱畫筆丹青寫摹來，亦不盡心中，慕濃思苦。
When young I was too carefree
Now I’m old without company
I live alone in foreign land
It’s harder someone to find
Who shares my joys and sorrows
And together we trim the candles
And chat about weather by the windows
But often I chance to see
A beautiful sword lady
Dancing at the banquet gracefully
How beautiful is she?
Count the beauties in history
None of them can win a victory
Though I can put her in drawing
Of her it will not reduce my thinking
3/25生查子•夢回故裏
夢中回故城，夢醒雙行淚。 殘敗舊街坊，床幾皆荒廢。
家人形陌生，鄰裏言如魅。一去越千年，驚識非同類。
I dreamed I saw my old town again
I woke up with face full of tear stain
Ruined were the houses of neighborhood
Tables and beds were all rotten wood
People in the house were all strangers
Ghostly sounded the words of neighbors
After a thousand years' separation
I was shock we were of different categorization
3/26 憶少年•1983年杭州蘇州旅次
江南秋晚，京杭河道，登舟在暮。杭城倦遊半，繼姑蘇行旅。
岸柳如煙淒冷雨，宿無眠，夜風朝露。同倉遇佳麗，未曾聊一語。
Late fall in the old south
By the Jinghang Canal
I boarded a boat
Tired from touring half Hangzhou
I went on to Suzhou
In cold rain hazy were the river bank willows
A sleepless night
Passed in wind to meet the morning dew
A beauty was in the same cabin
We didn’t exchange a word though
3/28 浪淘沙• 1980北戴河
盛夏伏來天，休假期間。聽聞所戀赴幽燕。一領戎裝隨後去，心意拳拳。
此舉太堪憐，入夜難眠。海邊悶熱爛泥灘。雖是城門曾短會，一臉茫然。
On a hot summer day
During break
I heard my idol went to the sea
In my army uniform I followed suit
With sincerity
It was a pitiful thing to do
I had sleepless night there
The beach was suffocating with muddy mire
Though we met briefly at the city gate
Both didn’t know what should we care
3/28 浪淘沙•單戀，仿李後主韻
無理意纏綿，淚下潸然。峨眉冷峻我心寒。想必不如身過客，遑論親歡。
日暮自憑欄，蕭索青山。托言魚雁卻知難。對鏡悲霜春不在，情葬心間。
3/29 漁家傲•下班海邊閑逛
春來氣候宜人暖，潮平沙岸流清淺。天海渾然時欲晚，憑欄看，如氈新草棲雙雁。
暮色閑遊無友伴，多年積習誰人怨。岸芷汀蘭常迷戀，純景幻，曹公梅子徒勞盼。
3/39 漁家傲•驚夢
夢見下班時，同辦公室兩個女老師走了，從外邊把門鎖了。我留在裏邊，不知怎麽躺到一張床上睡覺了。但是半睡半醒，提心吊膽，心想別的辦公室都沒有床板，單獨我有，太特殊化了。睡得昏昏沉沉中似乎聽到過道裏有動靜，大恐。然後就看見沒關的門那裏站了兩個陌生男人，被嚇醒了。填詞以記之。
下班時間樓門鎖，樓中隻剩唯一我。入夜獨眠床板臥。風雨作，如被發現招災禍。
忽見門廊人影坐，陌生麵孔七八個。疑是強人將殺我。肉糜剁，醒來之後魂顛簸。
3/30 菩薩蠻•蒙特雷半島即景
一灣夜海粼光爍，萬家燈火星天落。要塞守平灣，碼頭歸客船。
大南崖壁立，白浪撲礁急。殘月照西洋，登高盡望鄉。
注： 西洋，指太平洋西半。
3/31 清平樂•清明
暖晴春日，四野芳菲碧。朝露猶存行履濕，草墜晶瑩如泣。
異域又是清明，柳色如織風輕。遙念中南峰上，碑新塵掃煙騰。
On a warm fine spring day
Lushly green plants in field lay
The morning dew’s still there to wet the shoes
The crystal drops on grass’re like tears in displa
It’s Clear and Bright day in foreign land
In light wind willows a fabric expand
On the peak in the central south China
By dusted tomb stone incense smokes extend run down profusely
My heart is turned cold by her brows chilly
Guess I’m no more relevant than someone passing
I should forget intimacy!
Leaning on the rail at dusk
I watch the sad mountain view
It’s hard to send her correspondence I know
My lost youth is in the mirrored hair like dust
I should this love bury!
4/1采桑子•芳菲盡
紅芳紫粉終將盡，或是凋零，或是飛升，無影無蹤隨意行。
落花流水幹卿事，不問娉婷，又問娉婷，夢裏琵琶馬上聲。
The season of many colors will resign
Because of nature
Or of human design
Trace-less, the process shows no sign
Petals on the stream, none of my concern
Determined not to bother
I’m curious however
The tunes of Pipa from horseback in dream linger
4/2 海棠春•遊廊相遇
遊廊相遇皆無語，悄然去，烏絲飄舞。暗自戀佳人，卻隻心中慕。
水流花謝誰能駐，此身老，機緣早負。恨未晚生人，或可同船渡。
Speechless I met you on the veranda
Your black hair flying, silently we did part
I am your secret admirer
The admiration is buried in heart
None can stop flowing river or a falling flower
I am old and my chance is no more
Had I been born a decade later
On your boat I might be a passenger
4/3 浣溪沙•香霧
香霧朦朧何處來，雲騰氳繞罩瑤台，陽春魏紫滿園開。
何必深閨勤打扮，無須畫眼潤香腮，天然驚豔眾裙釵。

隋城佛殿明空曌，晉土豪園碧玉淪。舊友如今皆少遇，踏青陌上隻斯人。
Thirty years ago I left the Mangshan Mountains
Where I used to have peonies as my neighbor
The species competed in the colorful show
The city’s tri-colored pottery was a treasure
Out of the Sui ruins rose the Empress’s hall
Lamentable was the mistress of a wealth owner
Now I seldom see my old friends from there at all
The spring outing sees me only and none other

解甲邙山卅載，牡丹曾與相鄰。
魏紫姚黃爭鬥豔，四月王城揚道塵。
公園踏破門。
最愛九都三彩，大唐風物猶存。

Thirty years ago I bid farewell to arms in the Mang Mountains
Where I used to have peonies as my neighbor
The colorful flowers bloomed like gushing fountains
The roads of the king city were dust ridden
Visitors’ feet worn out the gates of the garde
Adorable was the tri-colored pottery
Preserving Tang Dynasty’s glory

一山突兀丹青卷，虎峰聳，清流濺。古柏巉岩星月燦，竹籬陋舍，雅堂華殿，皆去凡塵遠。
聽濤自有江波岸，望嶺還看雨雲散。山野幽居知冷暖，鶴猿相伴，四時流轉，金玉何須羨。
So prominent a mountain on this painting
Like a tiger, his back arching
With clear brooks splashing
The moon and the stars are bright over age old pines and craggy cliffs
Neither a humble bamboo-fenced house
Nor an elegant and majestic building
Is worldly spheres desiring
There’s the river bank to listen to waves by
Rain clouds gone, you see the peaks high
The changing climate is best felt in the wild
With cranes and monkeys as living mate
You see the seasons around you rotate
And want neither gold nor jade

青蔥新韭，野徑零星有。花白玲瓏迎風抖，似是熱情招手。

A Beauty
There‘s a beauty occasionally in temple I see
Disturbing for no reason my heart worldly
I used a pen to draw her visage secretly
But lament that I am not a magician who can
Make her come down the wall to me
Oft I wonder what she’s like behind me
In dealing with chores Monday to Sunday
At sunset she’s gone but her phantom lingers on
The dimple, the black hair and the eyes watery
On the river islet twitters a birdie

On a solemn base in the wind goes the sound of bugle
Slowly descends the Star and the Stripes in the twilight glow
Another busy day has finally come to an end
Serene is the shore and placid are the waves on the sand
The sea lions cry in the distance, for what only God should know
It is a good time to take a walk along the beach though
But I hate the path filled with spring agitated people
This monk really resents such a show

大江東去，龜蛇霧鎖龍王渡。幾多往事隨風雨。總總林林，屈指無從數。
黃鶴編鍾歌楚舞，紅樓首義折清羽。漢陽鑄劍無新故。是是非非，遞予誰人慮。
To the east rolls the Yangtze River
Foggy are the hills viewed from Dragon King Wharf
In winds and rains many events were to occur
So many of them that are
Uncountable with fingers
The Chu-style dance music is played by chimes at the Yellow Crane Tower
The uprising in Wuchang broke the wings of the Manchu ruler
The swords forged in Hanyang were indifferent to their user
As to the rights and wrongs of history
Who has the wisdom to consider
4/13虞美人 •園中可憐桃一枝
春心不死枯桃樹，寂寞秋冬度。東風化雨又來時，新葉油油再現，布斜枝。
奈何小蕊花徒放，一副窮酸相。隻緣株矮不招蜂，無果年年殘喘，怨無窮。
A dry peach plant whose heart is still alive
In autumn and winter manages to survive
Freshly green leaves sprout from the branches
When spring with winds and rains doth arrive
But the flowers are small and bloom in vain
The poor buds appear humble and plain
The short tree invites no bees working on them
Fruitless it hangs on year after year with complain

無定月，猶記少年曾謁。彈雨槍林哀角咽。冀宛城頭血。
自古獅橋任穿越，竟告旅關新設。盛世緣何民帑掘，大燕豪氣絕。
The moon shines over the Lugou Bridge.
I remember being there when young.
The sad bugle sound in bullet rain
Is still heard from the blood smeared town.
This lion bridge opens to people all the eras.
Now they say to visit one has to pay money.
Why should Prosperity suck the fat of commoners

癡情莫，戀情莫，癡戀多成錯。千裏水滄浪，纓足分清濁。
高鳴鬆間鶴，不似柴禾雀。非是玉瓊枝，豈可期凰落。
Indulge not in blind love
Infatuated not by foolish amour
Blind love leads you to err
Of the wavy waters in the river
You better know what they’re used for
Cranes signing in a lofty pine tree
Are not the sparrows that in fire twigs play
A tree not covered with jady jewelry
Invites not a phoenix on it to stay

Her beauty surpassed all other pretty things nearby
White as snowy pear blossoms she flutter wings to fly

The golden state turns greenish in April
The fields are verdant like transmission oil
Flowers compete to smile for the pleasant spring
Fine grasses nod as fine winds start blowing
The hundred more mile trip led to Gold Mountain
We sat judging kids to award champion

天涯鴻雁飛何往，心碎人孤望。一輪明月照長空，荒野草波如浪。中原路遠，歸期不見，淒冷穹廬帳。

Where are geese flying to in the edge of sky?
A heart-broken lady watches them alone
A bright moon is shedding light in the vast sky
The wilderness with wavy grass is strewn
The road to central China is long
No date for home return is around
Miserably cold is the Mongolian tent
Still crying over her marriage to the Xingnu
She laments a woman at a desert tomb
Sadly she parts with her two sons left behind
Before she is brought back to her home land
To write history for the Chinese lord
Her good reputation lasts in the lore
I wonder if she would at death bed repent
玉漏遲 •癡心多惹怨
癡心多惹怨，一廂情緒，徒招偷笑。夢裏佳人，覺醒倍增煩惱。顧影生憐何故，若無緣，枉觀花好。情自擾，無由無據，何來心鬧。
本是殊寡交情，卻要獻殷勤，豈非胡造。禮拜彌慈，尚有開顏憨笑。不解春紅謝處，誰家掃，一坪花草。心路渺，迷茫客知多少。
Infatuation produces resentment
One sided love invites sneer behind
Beauty in dreams only gives waking annoyance
Love at first sight, what is the basis?
Without destined link, you watch nice flowers for nothing
Don’t disturb yourself if yours is baseless feeling
There is no past connection between you two
Your kindness is but the act of the fool
Worshipping Maitreya you at least can hear

黑雲天，島城初晚，茸毛細雨綿綿。看眼下街燈寂放，四周殊少人聲，雁鳴草間。多時無雨晴天，院草葉枯淩亂，平添幾處蕭然。
更何況、無端滿心煩惱，欲言無處，似藤纏繞，整天擾我心慌意亂，如於爐灶熬煎。鏡中顏，愁容使人怎看。

瓊島春蔭城中海，氣象大方豪邁。猶記少年時，蕩槳紅巾戴。壯誌溢胸懷，滿腹豪情在。

臨江仙 •武漢長江
大江東去斜陽外，幾番輪渡穿行。一橋淩貫北南橫，鶴龜花木看崢嶸。
自幼臨江多少次，歲時如水無情。從容而逝赴單程，人間生死豈聞聽。
The river runs east in the sunset glow
On ferry boats many times I’ve crossed the flow
The towering bridge strides over the two banks
Exuberant are the plants of Crane and Turtle
I’ve come to the river frequently since a child
Like water, time flows mercilessly forward
On a one way trip it disappears with leisure
Never caring for death and life in the world

琵琶仙•大瑟風光
高岸汪洋，歎觀止，大瑟風光無限。遙看霜色天雲，原鄉此心遠。漂泊客，登臨送目，似聞見，陣行歸雁。麵海聽濤，閑觀落瀑，沙白灣淺。
待晴日，千裏無雲，海藍色，晶瑩透天展。吟唱一懷胸噫，喚來風雲卷。須忘卻，煩心瑣事，盡散開，苦澀癡戀。任那他處鴛鴦，枕香肢軟。

柴米油鹽醬醋茶，參禪不必定離家。掃清秋院風飄葉，勝過佛門一領裟。

夏雨頻多，小園花盛，莠良爭搶甘霖。五顏六色，倒也悅身心。怎奈老肢孱弱，無暇顧，草亂陰森。鋤鐮動，蠻荒未整，體力已難禁。
置房年七載，當初氣盛，細劃詳斟。蓋浮土，桃源別墅摹臨。漆畫籬牆虛月，題 紅綠，寶黛佯尋。終荒了，人生大事，仍夜夜寒衾。

孤零夜，難夢溫香軟頸，春宵沙漏流罄。空填詞曲知何用？總是佳人無興。君拭鏡，白蒼發、應知慚愧迷娟影！何如買酊。便紅袖虛情，解愁亦可，勝遠寺鍾磬。

周日雨綿綿，薄衫不抵寒。雖然春近晚，怎奈此洋灣。
陋室情淒寂，公職事瑣繁。流光悄逝去，老朽內如燃。
On this Sunday it rained nonstop
My thin shirt failed to give me warmth
Though spring is near its end almost
We are by the Monterey bay
Sad loneliness filled my poor house
Myriads of things occur at work
Time flows away without a trace
I feel scorching burns in my guts

老朽敗園囚，春至狂芳費剪修。忙裏竊閑收拾點，悠悠，無限光陰不覺流。
勞累苦無休，恰似隨波不係舟。釋剪入門窺美貌，明眸，更惹憂腸百結愁。
An old man, a prisoner of his garden
Works hard to trim the wild spring vegetation
He does it little by little ‘cause he is busy
And much time steal away without notification
He feels bitter about endless labor
Like a nonstop boat on the river
Putting cutter aside he saw a pretty face in the room

In the nightly breeze fine trees sway
Across the blue sky silky clouds play
Where’s the magic pillar supporting the sky
That raises high the starry Milky Way
Summer comes and nowhere to see catkins

a look finds the crescent moon by the window

院裏諸花，漸次隨春斷。老去容顏，誰能免。任她佳麗，亦應該，紅顏歎。

剪枝褥草事躬親，室少芳荃院滿春。若得幫工香豔手，羅衾繡枕兩相鄰。嗬嗬

日晚掛簾冷，春去近無蹤。夏來時有淒雨，難耐海洋風。陋室空堂寂寞，敗院荒蕪滿地，花葉落重重。持帚何堪掃，顰黛悼殘紅。
翻舊照，皆淩亂，歲青蔥。忍觀昔日模樣，何處覓韶容。猶憶廬峰攀越，還上驪山憑吊，年少易情衷。曆盡滄桑後，難再有心雄。

如坐針氈對馳鍾，淒風苦雨泣飛紅。孤衾夢醒窗邊月，夜半春闌枕底風。

碧空舟月，清冷雄黃重五節。陋室空堂，無意升炊竹葉香。
遐思她處，可是合家歡樂語。問訊無由，遙看星河萬裏愁。

萬裏晴空好，周末得寬餘。數天堆事，黎明初起便來梳。先是維修斤頂，不顧掌中磨繭，兩手盡油汙。重回廠修日，本色尚如初。
年雖老，急躁少，動作徐。識清原理，便是迷路亦成途。砸出旋杆除鏽，檢驗齒輪機械，萬事保無虞。今後當維護，方可用時舒。

大鵬展翅上扶搖，天際霓霞似火燒。如海青冥何浩瀚，星球億萬自流漂。

不見伊人麵，樓台寂寞空虛。嬋娟徒照塵封牖，倚枕懶翻書。
何事癡迷水月，非為翻覆歡娛。憐花豈是因春色，秋愛果如珠。
She is nowhere to be found
The buildings are in an emptiness profound
In vain the brilliant moon shines on the dusty window
No mood to read, I lean on the pillow tossing around
Why am I infatuated with the moon's reflection?

I admire the flowers, not because of their spring coloration

幾度烽煙過，大王旗變換。首府上加州，易幟無硝煙。
東有沃土肥，西有海中鮮。華日皆魚捕，意人更領先。
火焚中國村，我族人四散。徒留唐人角，鮮有人吊唁。
昔日沙丁盛，火車往來繁。涸澤終有盡，廠荒有經年。
悠悠四十載，沙丁今複還。無人報漁訊，遊客自悠然。
我居蒙特雷，緣有國王山。大炮猶在守，奧德卻蕭然。
而今外語城，出產通事員。更有海軍曹，運籌教室間。
日日望大海，坐看富門山。不覺二十載，白發兩鬢斑。

滿腹盡愁腸，星月飛馳底事忙？心內亂填零碎事，惶惶，無解方程費腦漿。
年歲似長江，滾滾東流向海洋。所異水源猶可續，湯湯，不似人生夢不長。
My guts are filled with much worry 8

家務無聊，天晴氣爽，公交北上吉城。青山雨後，草毯色青青。幾處牛群覓草，農家韻，飄逸山風。車行緩，唯一通道，周末俱出行。
吉城初次去，曾經看作，老美荒城。料不得，有模有樣清平。超市熙熙攘攘，亦常有，華語聞聽。青山穀，東西屏障，舒目以嘉峰。

Tired of house chores on this fine day 8
I took the bus on Gilroy way 8
After the rains the hills are green 8
Grazing cattle were sometimes seen 8
In the breeze of verdant mountains 8
Flew the pleasant tunes of peasants 8
Slow were the autos on the road 8
Weekends with cars this lone way load 8
It was my first trip to Gilroy 8
I used to think it in poverty 9
It turned out to be a pretty town 9
Costco was filled with human throng 8
Often I heard some Mandarin 8
From some kind of Chinese kin 7
Flanking the valley were hills a few 9
That fed the eye with a charming view 9

星巴客滿咖香釅，四望皆夷臉。此時佳麗正何為？苦笑庸人自擾，惹閑悲。

Starbucks Coffee is full, smells of coffee thick
Looking around, I saw only foreigners
What is the beauty doing right now?
