I hope to see things improve, although it may not.

1. Reduce the cost of imported goods. Because this can attract wealthy buyers, the price of imported goods is often too high. I don't eat in western restaurants, but I want to eat enough cheap sauce and spices at home. The cost of living in big cities is too high.

2. Improve the legal protection for renters and employees. This has created too many social problems. Although it is not universal, there must be problems.

3. Ticket price. Since Chinese are the most common tourists, making the price more affordable will encourage more people to visit these scenic spots. People do pay for travel, but it does make some people feel distressed when they spend money.

4. Pay attention to promoting the growth of small and medium-sized brands. Many privately owned enterprises are unable to open or compete with loss-making enterprises that only use their own names to attract customers. This is the negative effect of domestic and international franchising.

China is also getting better in many ways:

1. More green space and appropriate financial funds to rotate trees/plants/flowers in the region.

2. Reduce the traffic jam on the road by increasing public transport.

3. Improve living standards in rural areas through reconstruction.

I hope the following things will improve and change over time:

1. Tiger mother and wolf father force children to compete.

2. The competitive pressure of adults is huge.

3. Lack of fun in life. There are different understandings of what enjoyment is, but for me, the word "sense of responsibility" is too heavy. This is one aspect that I want to see this place change.

Some things I like:

1. Food - Although in some places, food may not be healthy because of oil, it tastes good for me. Of course, with wealth, you will have more healthy choices.

2. Free traffic - I hate driving in Canada. The constant stop signs and traffic make me feel a little stressed. I really like long-distance highways, but short trips make me tired. In China, I often ride an electric bike. I have never encountered any accident, so this problem is more important than anything else.

3. Noise and silence. There are many places where you can go to make noise. Sometimes, you can go outside the city to find peace. They are not always quiet like other places where I live. In China, noise and quiet are opposite.

4. Convenient transportation - from subway to bus, and then to general travel, I prefer it there. Similarly, for long-distance driving, I prefer Canada, but in general, I travel there more times.

I'm sure I missed a lot of things that others might add. I hope it helps.

My name is Clara. I studied and lived in Nottingham University, Ningbo. During my stay in China, I met some good and bad things. Not everything can be perfect. Some things I don't like are completely due to cultural differences. When you are born in an environment with a series of rules, from a social point of view, when you are repeating these rules all your life, it will make you feel uncomfortable to see that others do not follow these rules. This is often referred to as cultural shock. So in my opinion, the question is not so much what they should do better, but what kind of influence I have been affected by as a Westerner, because I do not abide by or violate these rules. Anyway, this is my view on this issue. I hope readers like it.

1. Too much noise!

I come from a country where the noise is as natural as the sun. It is considered as one of the noisiest countries in Europe, even if not the noisiest (I just searched, Madrid is the sixth noisiest city in the world). Spain is a place where you can't talk in a coffee shop because everyone is buzzing at the same time.

But China has a completely different view on this matter. They have no sense of "public space" noise. In Spain, although some people speak loudly on the subway, you will certainly be embarrassed by annoying people. In China, people talk loudly on public transport. In China, people play music without headphones. In China, people watch videos without headphones. In China, people scream from one part of the store to another. Maybe it's because I'm not used to Chinese conversation, because Mandarin often has a lot of tone changes, but the places I go are always noisy. As a person from the loudest country in Europe, I still think it is very noisy here.

2. Milk 8 euros, noodles 1.5 euros

I think one of the strangest and sometimes annoying things is the absurd logic of price. I can't believe that a large bowl of noodles costs 1.5 euros and three apples costs 3 euros. Compared with snacks, mops are sometimes ridiculous. Going to the supermarket is always a good way to kill time. I always see this ridiculous thing mixed with different and new food that Spain can't find. If you want to maintain your eating habits in your country, it is impossible. Butter and milk are very expensive. Coffee is very expensive. Bread is considered a dessert, so it is more expensive to handle. Besides, it's sweet. When I first tried soft bread, I was puzzled because it was usually salty in Spain.

3. If you don't have a bank account, you will be punished by life

I am a stupid person. The senior student of my university said "you should create a bank account", but I didn't take it seriously. "After all, I can pay in cash". Hmm... I will always remember the first time I paid for the school canteen in cash. I was treated by a wonderful young man who asked me for money. I showed her a note. She laughed.

Since my first payment, I have encountered many places where cash is considered a strange way of payment. Usually use QR code. Even in small street markets, you can see payment by QR code. Even in a deformed railway station, you must pay by QR code, and sometimes you do not accept cash. Believe me, it's wise to open a bank account so that you can make online payments through mobile phones and enter the wonderful world of Taobao.

China is a developing country with advanced hardware infrastructure. For tourists, these cities do have wide streets, rich trees and gardens. People are generally very polite. Even the county seat has skyscrapers. At night, men drink at roadside stalls, women dance in the square, young people play basketball on the well-lit field, and many people jog or play with their pets. Visitors may be amused by the sight that China is a peaceful and prosperous advanced country. But all you can see is the surface. When you go deep and participate in it, you will find that many people are really backward and conservative.

Chinese students are picked up by their parents or grandparents. In addition to complicated traffic, another reason is the fear of traffickers. Human traffickers still exist. This is my colleague's story. Her mother was abducted from Guizhou or Sichuan Province to a village near my hometown, and was forced to marry her father and gave birth to her. When the girl was 100 days old, her mother ran away and never appeared again. My colleague complains that her mother left her, but how can you expect the love of a smuggled woman?

Yes, there is indeed a film praising the love of an abducted woman. The woman, Gao Yanmin, was abducted from Henan to Quyang County, Hebei Province in 1994. In the process of being abducted and trafficked, she was tortured and violated. Finally, she was sold to a shepherd in a poor village as his wife. The "husband" often beats her after drinking. She tried to escape, but failed. She and her "husband" have a man and a woman. Since she is the only person in the village who graduated from junior high school, she has been employed as a teacher in a primary school since 2000. In 2006, her experience was widely reported and received widespread sympathy from the public.

Since May 2006, the true nature of the incident has gradually attracted the attention and coverage of many media; Gao Yanmin wants to remind innocent girls to beware of the demons in the crowd and not let the tragedy happen again by revealing her past to the reporter.

In 2007, she was rated as one of the "10 people who moved Hebei". In 2009, her experience was filmed into a film with a title, "Marry a woman in a mountain", which literally means to marry a woman in a mountain. The official English title is "The story of a kidnapped woman". In the movie, the girl was saved from the traffickers by a kind old man with borrowed money. Although his son loved her, he didn't do anything to force her, but finally won her heart. The film was released on the China Film Channel at 8 a.m. on April 22, 2009.

On the morning of July 30, 2015, Gao Yanmin complained that the continuous public attention and pressure made her and her family feel uneasy. She hoped that the public would stop disturbing her. She added that it was the traffickers, not her family, who needed to be blamed and accused. In the afternoon of the same day, officials from Quyang County came to her and told her that netizens disputed her very much and asked her to sign a letter of guarantee and no longer accept any interviews. Liu Xiangyang, who first disclosed the matter, was also suspended for no reason.

In the next two days, Gao heard her fellow villagers gossiping about her donation and low teaching level. Worst of all, people said that she gained sympathy by destroying the image of the village.

It is unimaginable how backward the thoughts of some civilians are, and it is urgent to change. It has been more than ten years since this incident, and the times are developing and progressing. We believe that such incidents are becoming less and less under the official attention.

I am not Chinese, but I believe that China is an advanced country. Although it is still a "developing country", its infrastructure is several miles ahead of the rest of the world. Its urban planning is very good. Although there are pollution problems, however, pollution is only a phased problem and will soon disappear.

China is investing in subway projects in about 30 cities and has established subway networks in more than 25 cities. It has the longest high-speed train system in the world. It has sent probes and rovers to the moon and returned to the moon. It also built the world's fastest supercomputer. They also built floating solar panels in the river to absorb electricity. China is now focusing on automation and robotics, and will transition from a factory to a research and development center.

In terms of social indicators, China attaches great importance to women's safety. In 2015, there were only 26000 cases of rape, gang rape and sexual assault in China, with a population of 1.4 billion. On the other hand, in 2015, there were about 150000 similar cases among the 300 million people in the United States. In 2015, the UK had about 97000 cases, including Scotland and Wales, with a population of 65 million, while India had 370000 cases and a population of 1.3 billion (note: rape and sexual assault were reported in every country in the world). For such a large population, the number of poor people is extremely low, less than 10%. China's happiness index is at the middle level. China's social indicators are actually better than many developed countries.

Although China has many things to improve and there is room for further growth, this is true in almost every country. No country and its people are perfect. Murder and suicide rates are aggravated by stress, and climate change threatens mankind. Let us all unite to change the world.
