西門子獎的二名全美國家級的Winners：左邊為加州灣區的印度裔Ashvin Swaminathan和右邊的德州的華裔Lilly Shen。
最近，西門子基金會公布了去年的全美AP考試的西門子獎獲得者的名單。AP的滿分為5分，西門子獎勵最多門AP考試為滿分的學生，毎州二名，一名男生，一名女生，獎金為每人二千美元。另外還會選出二名全國性的Winners，獎金為毎人五千美元。這一獎項不是通過申請決定的，而是依據負責AP考試的College Board向西子門基金會提供的學生的AP成績。
由於西門子為科技公司，設立此獎項的目的是為了鼓勵學生學習數理相關的AP課程。西門子獎勵的AP考試課目包括：Biology, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Computer Science A, Environmental Science, Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, Physics C: Mechanics, and Statistics。 大家看到二門AP的物理都包括在內，而二門的微積分或二門的計算機則僅含一門。
至少有二門AP是5分的學生才有資格被考慮，教育發達的加州和紐約應該競爭激烈，然而，蒙他那州是唯一的隻有一名學生符合此最低標準的州，還是一位華裔男孩。隨使數數，東亞姓氏的學生就占了大約一半。

Regarding your sharp comment, $2,000 scholarship here is only about half of the NMSQ scholarship.
If you look at their names, there were one boy and one girl for each state. But for national winners, it did not act like that for sure.
