1901年度最流行的英文歌：說出來你一定聽說過，它就是大名鼎鼎的《星條旗永不落》！

《星條旗永不落》是一首美國愛國進行曲。該曲是美國作曲家John Philip Sousa的代表作，被美國議會定為是美國官方進行曲，更是美國各地節日遊行的樂隊的保留曲目。很奇怪它的位置被放在了1901最流行排行中，因為它的成曲應該是在1896年。在John Philip Sousa的自傳《一起行軍》中，他寫道他譜寫該曲是在1896年的聖誕節。他當時正和夫人一起在歐洲的一條遊艇上度假，剛剛聽到他樂隊經紀人David Blakely去世的消息。他的腦海中就開始譜寫了在這首曲子，回到美國後他把它寫了下來。1897年5月14日，在費城的柳樹林公園進行了首次演出，並立即獲得了愛國者的擁戴。
