Witty dialogue

(2015-08-07 20:23:38) 下一個

Witty dialogue is a must for a good movie. This one made me smile! If you don't know the story, however; you have no clue what're they converse about.

She: "You behave so badly !"

He: "Who is responsible for it?"

This YouTube: at time 1:40:16 dance, I've never seen such dance ***, making me feel dizzy - it really existed or just made up?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Csl_QN3XTrA

Such dance got you so physical, so breathtaking, that attracting of each other, fatal attraction, a game of elite. Anna is a victim of the game.

If you don't believe me, you gotta watch yourself.

Note: Anna Karenina (Russian: «Анна Каренина»; Russian pronunciation: [?an?? k??r?en??n?]) is a novel by the Russian writer Leo Tolstoy.

*** Thanks for pointing it out - Do you know what's its style? It sounds new creation to me. I've not seen such board room dancing. Some acts like The cotillion (also cotillon or "French country dance") is a social dance, popular in 18th-century Europe and America. Originally for four couples in square formation, it was a courtly version of an English country dance, the forerunner of the quadrille and, in the United States, the square dance. In Russian novels, those elites were proud of speaking French, eating French food,  dancing French dance. That's my bet, not sure. How about you?

Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Aaron Taylor-Johnson Movies Full Length English HD

In late-19th-century Russian high society, St. Petersburg aristocrat Anna Karenina enters into a life-changing affair with the dashing Count Alexei Vronsky.
Stars: Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Aaron Taylor-Johnson...

Opening...

beautifully staged thank you for posting this gem  I don't think I will ever forget this movie it is so breathtaking  that shot of that necklace at 2:13:54 and her on spotlight was epic so many of the sets are like paintings come to life

The movie's style is interesting--using a stage to frame life events of Anna Karenina, her husband, family, and Count Vronsky. The staging, costumes, choreography of dances was breath-taking for me.  However, the film drags, and many of the theatrical elements are just that, and don't seem to have any importance for the story telling.  Keira Knightly is a perfect manican--the clothes, make-up, jewelry, colors are absolutely stunning on her. . .but they are but a tinkling sound "signifying nothing".

+Kathleen Nardina If you think this is slow - I suggest you don't watch any other version of this movie. This is a 'shortened' version. You have to love the Russian way of story telling - and this is considered a quick moving version. This story moves slowly, yet quickly when it needs to. The drag you feel is because your feeling things from Anna's perspective.

Although the cast is perfect it is the worst version of this novel. I am no Russian at all,  but I grew up with this literature and I I can see, this movie is full of clichés and stereotypes like this clichés folk songs. The Russian aristocrats spoke French better than Russian, and they weren’t listening to the folk music at all. And this ridiculous ball dance with an awful choreography. This movie is grotesque and they didn’t catch the Russian spirit at all. And without it spirit it is only a not understandable story about a woman who was foolish enough to agree /to defer to an affair with a younger Lovelace and to neglect her duties and stupid enough to kill herself. To be honest I never liked this novel. But this version is even worse. This movie is shows excellent what happens if some artist breaks traditions when working on a classical and traditional play and believes that he creates something “groundbreaking and inventive”, but actually it is at not, at least in my opinion.

You're right, once when u spend time with Dostojevsky,Tolstoy, Pushkin, Jesenjinand other great Russian writers you just wish that it was made with Russian actors and actresses

The sound is SO low can hardly understand it and I have good hearing!

with such a film, why make the sound so low, that I can only hear it clearly with headphones?  Is it more work to make the sound at a good level? Just asking.

damnit i need to stop reading comments, AKA, --> glancing at them before the film begins for a question i was wondering anybody else asked, super quickly, happen to glance at a spoiler, when I just paused the film right at the begiiiinnnnniiinnnng! It's only one line, probably had misspelled words and only about 5 of them but regardless I see of all the comments on here... one that says "i hate sad endings.." okay i figured it would be. BUT STILL! DANG! guys! spoilers! PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE ON ALL THINGS WEB RELATED, I BEG OF YOU. FOR EVERYONE'S SAKE. Including yours! The more people that use such things as what basically every website and (good) blog uses as a law when saying anything about a film/show/etc., you write **WARNING: SPOILERS - JUST IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED YET - DON'T READ ON IF SO!** - OR just say *WARNING: SPOILER** at the top of your youtube comment. Even Tumblr has an un-spoken rule where we write it. Some of us have not read the infamous book, and we've managed it for how many years now?...to avoid them until I'm actually now about to watch, haha. S'all good just a helpful hint for peeps to help peeps in a full circle. THANK YOU FOR THE FILM! <3

This is one strange film. It took me some time to actually get into it. The opening and thereafter for a time is very distracting. I did end up enjoying it though. I imagine the actors really must have enjoyed doing this film. I felt as if I were behind the scenes which made the emotions the actors exhibited much more intense. It was extraordinary. Brilliant concept.

Excellent. Miss Knightley was an appropriate casting for Anna. She is an upper-calibre actress and a beauty to boot. Just as Anna.

why would you spoil a great story, beyond my comprehension.

-In fact ,simply and briefly . I felt as if I were watching a play in which most of the time , the  actors were  performing scenes on the stage rather than watching a movie  In comparison with  his" Pride and prejudice",Mr wright  failed to  present the real background  both "in body and soul" .

so i don't understand, the marriage between anna and jude law is a loveless one isn't it? so whats the big deal if someday they decide its enough of this facade and lets end it peacefully with a divorce. so much unnecessary drama, boohooo. then after she's together with this new guy she suddenly changes into this needy, crazy woman that drives her new love away. she's just mad, it's not the society is unjust, it's just that this woman is insane. in fact, i think this movie is about how mentally instable most women are and therefore no sane man should depend on a woman to know what she truly wants, ever. and the paradox that women marry provider but fucks player is the central theme in this movie, the things, because they can't seem to able to have both at the same time so every one of them is a little bit crazy inside. this certainly doesn't limit it self in the old imperial russian society, its the same everywhere in the world. women are not to be trusted.

As visually stunning this version is, the theater format just doesn't do the story justice. The book is fantastic and the characters have a great amount of depth to them throughout the entire book. This choppy staging just doesn't do the characters justice in my favor. Keira Knightley was robbed of a fantastic role.
