Potatoes

We grew in the couches

of sports fields

The excitement we could not achieve

in our lifetime

The loneliness we pretend not there

We could cheer for others' conquering

We could scream with others

sharing any field we could flick to

overfed with piles of junk snacks

we are not for eating though

like real potatoes

but rooted deeply and hopelessly
