幸=土上,士下&八字反轉, it was my wild guess, but checked Xu Shen: 幸= early death reversed,(Xu Shen).土上=early death,士下&八字反轉= reversed, it is partially in common.

My guess for 福= family in harmony + good blessing, compare to Xu Shen:福=omen+abundance, it is also passable.

福, therefore is related to balance of ying and yang, correspondency of human and heaven.

幸福 is to avoid earthiness and reduce earthly desire, for it is the source of pain.
