如何提高閱讀理解？

通常閱讀理解的問題會圍繞著5Ws + How（who, what, when, where, why, and how). 如果是針對課文的基本理解，那就要從文章中找答案。這是的回答應是作者 的想法。如果提問屬於Higher Order Thinking (Open-ended), 即可以各抒己見，不僅隻有一個答案的，就可以以文章中的問題為起點自由闡述和發揮。

Examples of Higher Order Thinking (Open-ended)questions.

1. Can you make a prediction about the main character and the next events? How did you know ... would happen next? What type of information in the text has helped you make this prediction?

2. What kind of person do you think the main character is? Why did you think he is ...? Can you go back to the text to find proofs or examples to support your answer?

3. Can you compare and contrast the main characters in the story? Find examples and proofs in the text to support your answers. Ex: Big and second pig Vs little pig in the Three Little Pigs.

4. If you were the judge, how would you rate the story from 1 to 5? What criteria or rubric would you use to rate the story? For younger kids, simply the question by asking " Do you like the story? Why or why not?" 

5. How would you end the story if you were the author?
