During all the trials, turmoils, hurt, disappointments, your love and encouragement are the rocks of my life. Your are the light of my life, I can see hope in the darkest night. I still have the strength to go through the tough time. sometimes I cried to the lord, where are you, my lord? I can hear you say: I am carrying you.
If you ask me today what is the purpose of life? My answer will be: Do everything to please God. If you can see Christ in me, that is the true purpose of life.

What is the definition of wealthy?
When we talk about wealth, different people have different answers.
A business women told me: My goal is 5 million. I know she must think about that number for a long time, because she answered the question without a blink of the eyes
Think about it, and you will find out what do you want in your life.
I met a very experienced, wise realtor. He came across many great investment opportunities, but he never buys any of those investments.
I asked the question: WHY? why you do not buy it?
He answered: The lord brings me to this world to experience life, not to accumulate wealth.
All these years, he tried all kinds of exciting things, from FBI agent, flying airplane, teaching bibile at churches, going fishing in big lakes and traveling around the world. His life is ambundant, full of excitement. He always keeps a diary to write down what he wants to do in life. He is very excited to tell me: there are 100 things I want to do many years ago, you know what, I already done 96 of them, only 4 left. One of the dreams he has is to go to the moon. He said: I am getting old now, wondering whether they will allow old man to go to the moon.
Many years ago, I thought wealthy means lots of money, lots of zeros in your bank saving account.
5 years ago, I watched my dad tortured by liver cancer, and he died in front of my eyes. My whole world was collapsed at that moment. My mind was numbed, the pain was too hard to bear. The burden was crashed my shoulder. During that time, my bag was stolen. I lost my passport, green card and money. In reality, I have NOTHING left. Life became meaningless for a while. What is wealth? At that time, and for the first time, I realize life is more important than money. No matter how much money you have, you can not get the lives back. Once it is gone, it is gone.
In that couple months I stuck in China, I always wondered: what is the purpose of our lives? why we live in this world?
My mentor said: the purpose of living is to please God. That is our final goal in life.
2. The true simple life is to have a humble, servant heart to serve the lord. This maybe work as a missionary, maybe a housewife, or can be any simple job. What we do is not important, but in everything, give God the glory. We honor him in everything we do. We serve the Lord with all of our heart, our might and our strenghth.
Pastor Wang Daoming wrote in one of his testimonies: He was doing some very miscellaneous jobs for couple years. He has been very thankful the training of those time. It taught him how to be patient, how to be humble. The Lord has purpose of everything. He prepared Pastor Wang for bigger responsibility down the road.
But the greed in our hearts sometimes is a huge obstacle to have a simple life. We desire more materials, from a small car to a big car, from a small house to a big house. To quench our desires sometimes seems almost impossible. To fight for the stuffs we want, from fame to vanity, we exhausted our energy, our time, even our health.
A person asked God: What do you think is the most funny behavior of human being?
God anaswered: They killed their health to gain wealth and then spent the wealth to get the health back.
3. The first time touch Bible
Dad sent me to cathoric church to learn English at the age of 10. Priest Ma is a great, humble man working for God all his life. He never married and work with 2 nuns for many years to help people. His ministry includes helping children to learn English for free, taking care of the homeless senior citizens. In 2005, when Dad passed away, I stayed in the old house to help mom to clean the whole house. Dad has many nice clothes. Mom originally plans to dump them all. I stopped visiting Priest Ma. And found out they can use all the clothes for the homeless. He is already in his 90's, but he is almost the same as I studied English 20 years ago. He is still soft spoken with great vision and hearing. You will never guess this is an 90's year old man. The first bible still lied in his office with the same black cover. That is a English and Chinese bible. When I first saw it at the age of 10, I was amazed. I was surprised how other people can communicate in different language? I gave myself a goal, that is I want to understand it one day. I want to learn to speak English fluently. Dad's original plan for me to learn English is to give me another tool for the future. He never planned that one day I will leave China and settled in USA. And he never planned that Bible became the most important books in his loving daughter's life. This amazing book totally changed her personality and her life.
Thank you, priest Ma, thank you for your generosity to teach all of us out of your love and your heart.
Thank you, heavenly father, for giving me the opportunity to get to know you. Nothing in life is happened without a purpose. When I looked back, I can see your plan for me. You already prepared me since the day one. But sometimes, it might take many years for us to understand your plan for us.
4. Going to USA to study.
After graduation from Shenzhen University, I worked for the Chinese IRS for 2 years. The rountine life in the IRS was very boring to me. Most of the friends thought IRS job is a great job and it is the dream for many people. But staying inside the office from 9:00-5:00 is not the kind of life I want. I applied for graduate school in USA. I do not know what is the next step. I have a very good classmate called Helen. Helen's whole family are christian. I can feel the love in her home. It is a great peace, joy and love in all her family members. One of her uncles is a pastor, which is rare in those days. Her grandparents suffered a lot during the culture revelation because of their faith. They kept their faith, hope and never complained. She gave me a small chinese bible to me in 1997 when I left China. That small little book is still with me after all these years. Her attitude in life really caused me to think: how can someone be so calm and peace, happy?
I feel like that is what I had been looking for-the true peace of my heart. And I had not found it yet.
Lots of things happened during the application of the graduate school. And lots of trouble occured during the application of Chinese passport. Many times, I thought of giving up. And how I survive it, I had not figured out. It is only because the grace of the lord. He slowly opened the door for me.
Someone cheated in Beijing on GMAT test. They decided to canceled all the scores in China. I was almost cried when I heard that news, since I had spent many, many hours to preapare for this. I hate to see that I had to take the exam again. But I had no choice.
Many years late,I realized that the Lord has already planned for me to come to University of South Carolina. Because of the delay of the exam, most of the schools sent me letters stating that I missed the application deadline. They like to offer me admission if I can wait another year. But I do not want to wait another year, and University of South Carolina and the other school in New York city offered me admission. The tuition for the New York school is more than double than University of South Carolina. That is pretty said: I only have ONE choice, that is go to USC.
Little than I know, that the Lord already plans for me to meet my loving husband Jason in USC and my god mother and father. No wonder it is said: God has a purpose in everything occured, whether we have the wisdom to understand is another thing.
